BIG HIGH DEBUT ALBUM OFFICIALLY RELEASED

The debut album from Barrett's new rock band, Big High, is officially out and available for purchase at all retail outlets around the world, as well as downloads on Itunes, Emusic, Amazon and many other sites. Big High will be playing select dates around the US, and they are already working on material for their second album, to be released in early 2011.

 

BARRETT DRUMMING FOR VISQUEEN ON THEIR AMERICAN TOUR

Visqueen is a classic Seattle rock band lead by singer-songwriter Rachel Flotard. She asked Barrett to play some drums on their upcoming American tour while regular drummer Ben Hooker takes a little time off to raise his new baby boy. ZENGA ARTS GALLERY SHOW

Barrett is having a gallery show of his Zen art at "Rain" Japanese Restaurant in the Wallingford district of Seattle. The show opens on May 5th as part of the Seattle art walk series and will feature a selection of Barrett's Zenga paintings and sculptures. BARRETT JOINS THE SEATTLE ROCK BAND "BIG HIGH"

Big High is a new Seattle rock quartet featuring Mesa Singer on vocals, Ari Joshua on guitar, Sandy Dickerson on bass, and Barrett Martin on drums. Their debut album will be released internationally on June 15th 2010 and the band is starting to play select shows on the eve of the release. "ZENGA AND THE ART OF PERCUSSION" WINS AN EMMY

The PBS short documentary about Barrett's drumming and Zenga painting titled, "Zenga And The Art Of Percussion", has won a 2009 Emmy in the New Media Arts category. NEW SOLO ALBUM "ZENGA" OUT NOW

Barrett't third solo album, "Zenga", has been officially released and is available now on I-Tunes, Emusic, Amazon, and at all the usual music outlets. The CD was released through Barrett's label Fast Horse Recordings and you can purchase the album here as a CD or digital download by clicking on the Discography link above, which will connect you to Fast Horse Recordings. Barrett's previous 2 solo albums, "The Painted Desert" and "Earthspeaker", are available now as well, also on Fast Horse Recordings.

 

ZENGA ARTS

In tandem with the release of "Zenga", Barrett is offering for the first time some of his original Zen artwork, inspired during  the making of the album. He has recently been working on new sculptures and paintings, some examples of which an be seen on the Zenga Paintings page.
